CPTX, a breakthrough drug created by British Scientists, has shown very promising results during its initial testing. According to Dr Radu Aricescu, a neuroscientist at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, CPTX has shown capabilities of preventing death of neuronal cells by reversing or repairing loss of neuronal connections shortly after an injury occurs. This breakthrough could mean that conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Spinal-Cord Injuries, Epilepsy, etc. could be treated with the drug, eventually. In studies conducted on lab mice with Alzheimer like symptoms, improvement in memory was found after CPTX was administered. As the drug continues development, it shows hopeful signs in the possibilities of its use in catastrophic claims in the workers compensation field should its results continue.
